about Us

We created our travel blog to inspire other retired and soon-to-be retired travellers which now-a-days could be 30 year olds.

We are new to travel blogging but have been writing about and sharing our travel pictures with family and friends for the past 15 years.

We decided to retire at age 55  from our long term careers to travel extensively.  Over ten years into it, we are still 10 years from seeing all that we would like to see and experience.

When our friends listen to our travel stories and money saving tips they all say that we should share our information with other people. So, we have developed this website for that purpose.

Our goal is to inspire other people to plan their own budget dream trips. With a strategic plan for budget (cheap) travel you can travel extensively as well.

We hope that you find our travel blog website interesting and informative. The website will grow as we continually add new content from our travels.

For each destination, we have created an ultimate guide with things to do, personalized with curated information and images of the destination. These destination guides are supplemented with specific blog posts about the destination and a variety of other travel topics.

We offer detailed information on what to do along with travel, accommodation and food recommendations for each destination.

We hope that this will inspire you to  plan your own meaningful slow travel experience and use our curated affiliates to book your trip. These are all companies that we use and are happy with their services and prices.

We are Patrick and Loie Robertson. We are passionate about good food, good wine, entertaining, performing arts, cultural activities and meaningful travel. We live in the beautiful Elk Valley in the Canadian Rockies shown in the header picture.
