Everglades Alligator Farm Homestead Florida
The Everglades Alligator Farm in Homestead, Florida is one of two airboat tour companies in the Everglades that we have visited. Of the 2 places the Everglades Alligator Farm was the better of the 2 places because the airboats are smaller and open so you really feel the speed and the wind blowing in your face as you race across the Everglades. It is so much fun. It was one of my wife’s favourite experiences the week we spend in Key Largo. You do not need reservations for the airboat ride. You just show up and they put you on the next airboat available.
Along with the airboat ride there is an alligator show held every 2 hours starting at 11 am. The host talks about alligators and wrestles with them to the delight of the audience. Your general admission also lets you wander around the property to see the various subtropical animals that they have there. Feeding time for the 500 alligators in the enclosed area is every 2 hours starting at 10 am. That is something to see if you like thrashing around alligators in a feeding frenzy. Count on spending about 3 hours at the alligator farm.
The price of admission is $29 for adults and it includes the show and the 25 minute airboat ride. To get an idea of the ride, check out the Everglades Alligator Farm in Homestead Florida website.
